This Privacy Policy describes how GPTZeroAI.net (“GPTZero AI”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and handles information when you use our website and AI detection services at https://gptzeroai.net.

GPTZeroAI.net is an independent AI content detection platform. It is not affiliated with GPTZero.me, Blackboard, Turnitin, or any educational institution.

Data we collect

We collect minimal data necessary to operate the service. This falls into two categories: data you provide directly, and data collected automatically.

Data you provide

• Submitted text: Text you paste or upload for AI detection or plagiarism scanning. See the Submitted Text section below for how this is handled.
• Contact form submissions: If you contact us via our contact page, we collect your name, email address, and message content to respond to your inquiry.

Data collected automatically

• Usage data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and time of visit. This data is retained for up to 30 days for security and performance monitoring.

Submitted text

When you paste or upload text for analysis, that text is transmitted to our detection infrastructure for processing. We want to be specific about what happens to it:

• Submitted text is processed in memory to generate a detection result.
• Text is not written to persistent storage after your session ends.
• Text is not used to train our detection models or any other machine learning systems.
• Text is not shared with third parties, including any academic institutions, employers, or other users.
• Text is not indexed or cross-referenced against future submissions.

Text submitted via the “Get Full Report” flow is transmitted to the full report service via an encrypted POST request. The same no-retention policy applies to that flow.

Cookies

We use cookies to operate the site and understand how visitors use it. No advertising cookies are set on this site.

Essential cookies

Required for the site to function. These include session management cookies that enable the scanning tool to operate. These cookies cannot be disabled.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics (or equivalent) to understand aggregate usage patterns — pages visited, time on site, and feature usage. This data is anonymized and does not identify individual users. You can opt out of analytics tracking via your browser’s cookie settings or by using a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.

Managing cookies

You can manage or delete cookies via your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality. Disabling analytics cookies has no effect on your ability to use the detection tools.

Third parties

We share no personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. The following third-party services are used to operate the platform:

• Cloudflare: CDN, DDoS protection, and API proxy infrastructure. Cloudflare processes request data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
• Google Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized usage analytics. No personally identifying information is transmitted.
• Payment processors: If you purchase a full report, payment is processed by a PCI-compliant third-party processor. We do not store card details.

We do not sell, rent, or license your personal data to any third party under any circumstances.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data under applicable privacy law (including GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent legislation).

• Right to access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
• Right to deletion: Request deletion of personal data we hold. Note that submitted text is not stored, so there is nothing to delete in most cases.
• Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Right to object: Object to processing of your data for analytics purposes.
• Right to portability: Request your data in a portable format.

Children’s privacy

GPTZeroAI.net is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Users aged 13–17 may use the service only with appropriate parental or guardian consent in accordance with applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
