1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using GPTZeroAI.net (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained appropriate parental or guardian consent.

GPTZeroAI.net is an independent AI content detection platform. It is not affiliated with GPTZero.me, Blackboard, Turnitin, or any academic institution.

2. Description of service

GPTZero AI provides AI content detection and plagiarism scanning services through our web platform. The Service includes:

• Free AI detection scans of up to 5,000 words with no account required
• Sentence-level confidence scoring and heatmap visualization
• Full report access including paragraph-level breakdown, plagiarism scan, and PDF export (paid feature)
• Plagiarism checking through the plagiarism checker tool

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with or without notice. We will not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Service to make automated academic integrity determinations without human review
• Represent detection results as definitive proof of AI authorship in any formal or legal proceeding without appropriate qualification
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service in bulk without prior written consent
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service
• Submit text containing illegal content, including content that violates third-party intellectual property rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the detection models or scoring algorithms

4. Accuracy disclaimer

AI detection is a probabilistic technology. While GPTZero AI achieves high accuracy on standard academic and professional texts, no detector is infallible.

Known limitations

• False positives (human text flagged as AI) can occur with highly formulaic writing, ESL writing with predictable grammatical structures, or texts under 100 words
• False negatives (AI text not detected) can occur with heavily edited or paraphrased AI content
• Accuracy may vary across languages, with highest accuracy on English-language texts
• Detection of newly released AI models may lag until our dataset is updated

We make no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of the detection results. The Service is provided “as is”.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, including all detection models, software, user interface, design, and content (excluding submitted user text), is owned by GPTZeroAI.net and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain all rights to text you submit for analysis. By submitting text, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that text solely for the purpose of generating a detection result for you. This license terminates when your session ends.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

6. Payments and refunds

Certain features of the Service (including full report access) require payment. By making a purchase, you agree to provide accurate payment information and authorize us to charge the applicable fees.

Refund policy

We offer a refund within 48 hours of purchase if the full report was not delivered or was materially defective. To request a refund, contact us via our contact page within the applicable period.

We do not offer refunds for completed, successfully delivered full reports. If you experienced a technical issue, please contact us and we will investigate.

Subscription plans (where applicable) may be cancelled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no prorated refunds are issued for unused days.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GPTZeroAI.net and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

This includes, without limitation, damages arising from:

• Incorrect detection results, whether false positives or false negatives
• Decisions made on the basis of detection results, including academic integrity decisions
• Loss of data or inability to access submitted text after session expiration
• Service interruptions or downtime

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

9. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
